We all know of the Air Ambulance, but not all know exactly how vital this organisation actually are in emergencies, nor how much it costs to keep this service up and running in order to continue saving lives! The local Air Ambulance organisation that predominantly covers Leicestershire, Derbyshire, Rutland, Warwickshire and Northamptonshire is dependent upon charitable donations from the public to continue, but they now are in need of help from a younger generation! Sophie Burt, Senior Fundraising Manager for the Air Ambulance said; ““Our volunteers are the lifeblood of our organisation. Without their fantastic work, we simply wouldn’t be able to keep our lifesaving helicopter in the skies. “We’re appealing to the next generation of amazing volunteers to step up and get involved with our vital charity and take part in an exciting series of events. The Air Ambulance have teamed up with Leicestershire-based events company Island Events & Company who have taken the challenge to raise the awareness needed with a range of events planned throughout 2016. The first event will be hosted on the May Bank Holiday Sunday (29th May) at The Parcel Yard, London Road, Leicester from 2pm until Late.
There is a suggested £5 entry donation upon entrance and entertainment throughout the day from, Mark Elliott, Tanni Browne, The King Brasstards and Johnny & The Goodtime Boys.
