Calling Leicester models

The ninth annual Midlands Fashion Show and Awards has announced its deadline for designer applications: 31st May 2016, and have just released details about their open casting day.

The MFA, which was launched in 2008 by Birmingham-based Jenny Eason, has just announced details of its model casting day. Partnering up with Grand Central in Birmingham, wannabe models will have a chance to strut their stuff on Saturday 11th June at the Midlands based train station. Those chosen will take to the catwalks in some of the hottest designs from some of the hottest designers throughout the Midlands on Friday 7th October at Symphony Orchestra, Birmingham.

MFA recognises and celebrates the exceptional and emerging talent in the fields of fashion design, fashion styling and make-up artistry in the Midlands. The annual competition provides an outlet for new, emerging and independent designers and creative talents to present their work, providing a platform to launch their collections to the industry.

Previous winners and finalists have gone on to showcase at London Fashion Week, New York Fashion Week while others have gone on to showcase at the pre-Oscars Fashion Show for The Stars in Hollywood, Los Angeles.

Jenny Eason, Founder of Midlands Fashion Awards comments; “We are looking forward to the model casting for our 2016 show. Not only do we aim to showcase some of the most talented designers, we’re more than happy to help models, whether they be new or more experienced, in their journey. And what better opportunity than walking in collections from some of the most innovative and fresh designs you have in the industry at the moment.”

The high profile catwalk event and competition plays host to high end retailers, fashion influencers, fashion editors, bloggers and journalists and is attended by an audience of 300 visitors from across the UK and beyond, so there’s plenty of scope for a model to be recognised for their catwalk.

The Midlands Fashion Awards 2016 will be held Friday 7th October at the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, CBSO Centre, Berkley St, Birmingham B1 2LF. For more information on the model casting, how to submit your application or to sponsor one of the categories, visit
