Health and fitness celebrity Rosemary Conley opened a new luxury care home in Leicestershire last weekend.
The slimming club legend cut the ribbon at The Amwell care home, a new ‘all-inclusive’ residential, nursing, dementia and respite care home on Asfordby Road in Melton Mowbray. The luxury home includes a cinema, a beauty spa, riverside bistro and even a chauffeur-driven Mercedes-Benz.
Leicester-born Conley, 70, CBE, who is best known for her fitness clubs, diet books and regular appearances on TV shows, kicked off the two-day grand opening which was followed by champagne and canapes, live music, a charity raffle and a guided tour of The Amwell to showcase its luxurious facilities.
The Amwell has taken a year to build at a cost of £6million. The Amwell is filled with elegant designs, across three floors and 88 luxurious en-suite bedrooms. The home has been created to provide exceptional levels of care and a ‘home-from-home’ for residents in luxurious surroundings. The Amwell sits with its only private wooded area overlooking the river Eye, taking in the beautiful views of the town and its parks.
In addition to the cinema, beauty spa and riverside bistro, The Amwell’s superb facilities include a specialised gym, a beautiful landscaped courtyard garden, private dining and computer suite facilities. All the guests can enjoy a fresh fine dining experience which will be prepared daily by the on-site chef.
A chauffeur-driven Mercedes is also available to take residents into town and a dedicated activities coordinator plans an impressive monthly events programme. The Amwell offers ‘all-inclusive’ living with everything covered by the weekly fees, which start from £895 per week.
The Amwell care home manager Chris Batty said: “We would like to thank Rosemary Conley for taking the time to officially open The Amwell care home. It was fabulous day and great to meet so many people and their families who were interested in finding out more about The Amwell. I think many were blown away by the fantastic facilities we offer at The Amwell and we look forward to hearing from them again soon.”
