A luxury care home in Melton Mowbray has raised £200 for Loughborough-based kids charity Steps.
The Amwell Care Home, a new ‘all-inclusive’ residential, nursing, dementia and respite care home on Asfordby Road, raised the money during a raffle at last week’s launch event.
Celebrity slimming guru Rosemary Conley CBE, who also cut the ribbon on the day of the grand opening at The Amwell, accepted the cheque from care home manager Chris Batty, on behalf of the charity where she is the patron.
Steps provides specialist nursery services and ‘life changing’ support to children and their families with motor disorders.
The Amwell care home manager Chris Batty said: “We are extremely proud of everybody’s fundraising efforts here for a very worthwhile charity which improves the lives of children and their families coping with motor disorders.
“The launch event was fantastic for residents, families and friends and it was made even more special by the donation we were able to make to STEPS.”
