World’s First Leicester Dry Gin Launches In Homage To Leicester City Football Club. The world’s first Leicester Dry Gin, which pays homage to Leicester City Football Club’s Premier League title success, will be available to buy from exclusive venues, from Friday 24 March 2017. Created by master distiller, James Baxter of Burleighs Gin, in collaboration with the current Premier League champions, Leicester Dry Gin has been distilled with botanicals and flavours which are steeped in the history of Leicestershire food and drink, to create a powerful spiced gin. The gin offers a crisp, fresh and vibrant nose which offers a warming spice and bright citrus top notes and a palate which brings an abundance of juniper followed by nutmeg, citrus zest and herbs mixed with earthy spicy notes in the background. Leicester Dry Gin launched at an exclusive event held at Burleighs’ 45 West Bottle Shop & Bar in Leicester, and following the event the Club’s Head of Retail, Matt Payne said: “Leicester has a rich history in food and drink; and after last season’s on-field success it seemed fitting to collaborate with Burleighs Gin to create a new Leicester gin which adds to the history. “Leicester Dry Gin will not only appeal to Leicester City fans, but also to a broader audience. We are really pleased with the finish of the gin itself and how well it has been received at the launch event.” The distinctive blue bottles, which include the Club’s crest, are priced £35 for 70cl and can be purchased from the City Fanstore at King Power Stadium or from 45 West Bottle Shop & Bar, from Friday 24 March 2017.
