Leicester stylist competes at National level

TOP LEICESTER STYLIST TO COMPETE IN UK FINALS OF WELLA’S TREND VISION COMPETITION One of Leicester’s leading hair stylists has secured her place at the UK finals of a major industry competition. Joanne Roe, stylist and salon manager at KH Hair Leicester competed at the regional finals of Wella’s Trend Vision, an event designed to find the best hairdressing talent in the UK. Competing in the Colour Vision category, Joanne (33) who lives in Birstall, was given the brief to create a look with an 'individual vision of beautiful, wearable and inspiring salon-relevant hair'. She successfully passed a photographic submission round before competing live on stage at the regional finals held at the East Midlands Conference Centre on 8 May. Joanne and her fellow competitors spent hours perfecting their models who then took to the catwalk in front of hundreds of guests at a glitzy show hosted by the leading global hair care giant, Wella Professionals. Joanne said: “I'm still in shock!" "I really can't believe it. It's so fantastic to be chosen by the judges to go through to the UK finals and I feel honoured to be representing my team at KH Hair. I hope my success will be an inspiration to the younger members of my team who I train back at the salon and will give them the encouragement they need to aim high." Darren Messias, Managing Director at KH Hair Group, said: "Trend Vision is one of my favourite competitions as it's so diverse and creative. The standard is extremely high so I'm thrilled for Joanne and her Nottingham-based colleague, Mary Geoghegan, who also made it through this heat. KH Hair actually had six regional finalists on stage this year which is a great representation of the talent we have in the company." Joanne will now begin preparations for the UK & Ireland finals which will take place on 5 September at the Roundhouse in London. If successful, she will go on to compete in the international finals later this year.
