Leicester artist collective on the road for Brighton debut

Growing Leicester-based variety troupe, House of Verse CIC, debut at the Brighton Fringe with their Marwood Bar & Coffeehouse Takeover. What started as Hibword's DMU final year degree project aiming to make poetry more accessible, through interactive exhibition, has now evolved into a vibrant platform for a diversity of performers. The platform has grown to feature over 200 artists so far having performed 36 shows across 22 venues. “A central hub of noise and intensely good vibes… like having a house party at the heart of everything.” - John Helps, Contractor at Handmade Festival.

For it’s 37th reincarnation, House of Verse will be taking to the road for its national debut at Brighton’s very own Fringe, the largest arts festival in England. Consisting of 21 performers including beatboxers, rappers, spoken word poets, DJs, comedians, projection artists and many more, this incredibly diverse and continuously evolving variety event takes energy and entertainment to another level, providing not only a great evening of entertainment but simultaneously allowing audiences to be a part of the ever-growing HOV community. Both days include a range of workshops (from drumming and beatbox to freestyle and b-boyin’) culminating in an evening of live performances. Come down and join us in what’s been described as “the coolest and biggest living room in Leicester”.
