A new app that shows the capacity of a venue before you make the crucial decision on where to head for your night out will officially launch for the Loughborough area this October.
So far, a range of social gathering spots are featured on the app for the Leicester and Loughborough areas, Capacity’s developer 35-year-old Loughborough University student Lee Quinn hopes to get many more venues on board by the end of the year.
“We’ve got a lot of bars and restaurants on the app but eventually we’d like to get it to feature every kind of venue on there, whether you’re looking for a massive indoor play area or a nightclub,” he told us.
Capacity has had over 1,000 downloads and as the venues keep stacking up day after day as they all want in on the app that accurately tracks their capacity with a clicker system installed at their doors, the downloads are continuing to rise.
The latest venues to have signed up are The Exchange bar in Leicester and Venom Nightclub, and ADT taxis are also available on Capacity to order a ride at the touch of a button as soon as you’ve decided where you want to go based on Capacity’s info.
Lee invites you all to attend the official Loughborough launch party with live DJ at The Paget Friday 6th October. Make sure you download the free Capacity app before you get there for the spin-the-wheel game. When you show the designated ‘spin-the-wheeler’ that you’ve downloaded the app to your phone, you get to spin the wheel revealing which free shot you’ll get!
Here are just two of the venues featured on the app that we’re excited about:
41 Oxford Street, Loughborough, LE11 5DP
About: The Paget is situated in the heart of Loughborough just outside of the town centre. Most evenings you can usually find this warm, Victorian terrace pub full of a cross section of Loughborough society. The Paget offers six traditional real ales always including Steamin’ Billy ales and a rotating guest ale program as well as three craft beers.
We’re loving: The new ‘Burgers & Brews’ menu that offers home minced and hand crafted burgers, 12-3pm and 6-9pm Tuesday to Saturday, 12-4pm on Sunday.
41 Halford St, Leicester LE1 1TR
About: Chutney Ivy bring the most traditional dishes from all corners of the Indian sub-continent, maintain the classic Indian recipes and enhance the offering with some signature dishes to reflect the changing food trends in modern society. Cooked and prepared in their open plan kitchen by the vastly experienced staff, the menu has been designed after several years of research and experience gained.
We’re loving: Chutney Ivy’s private party facilities that are totally flexible accommodating live DJs and performers, cocktails and canapés.
