Local entrepreneur Barrie Stephen welcomed guests to North Bar & Kitchen on Hinckley Road on Saturday night for a fun-filled evening of spooky Halloween delights. Amidst the face paint, masks and free flowing bubbles there was a serious purpose to the night - the continuation of Barrie's mission to raise funds for the Leicester RSPCA's Woodside Animal Centre. Since becoming a charity ambassador for Woodside two years ago, Barrie has raised an incredible £27,339.75 for the charity, with the ball adding £1010 to the total from ticket sales and a charity raffle, with prizes contributed by local businesses.
Barrie said 'Woodside is very close to my heart. They take care of and re-home abandoned pets as well as rehabilitating and finding new homes for victims of animal cruelty. As the animals do not have their own voice to raise awareness about the value of these services and the difference that the Leicester RSPCA makes to the lives of both animals and their new owners, it is a privilege for me to try to help support them.'
Guests at the party enjoyed a range of delicious treats whipped up by the award-winning kitchen team at North Bar & Kitchen, as well as live entertainment throughout the evening.
