Sn-ap launches on-demand coach service in Leicester’s Highcross

Innovative on-demand coach provider Sn-ap successfully launched its Leicester to London service on Tuesday, May 8 in the Highcross Shopping Centre. Visitors were able to view an example of the luxury coaches the firm uses while enjoying a cake and refreshing lemonade in the sunshine. The Sn-ap team also gave out free return trips to London.

Sn-ap offers trips from Leicester to London from just £5, with pickup points at Oadby, London Road, Oxford Street, Narborough Road and Fosse Park. Drop-off points in London are Finchley Road, Camden, Euston, and Covent Garden.

Sn-ap founder Thomas Ableman was at the launch speaking to members of the public. He said: “We were delighted with how many people came down to see us at our launch event in the Highcross. The sun was beaming all day and we handed out plenty of free return trips to London. Our team also had a great time explaining to shoppers and passers-by how Sn-ap makes intercity travel stress-free and comfortable."

Thomas has 14 years' experience in public transport with seven years spent in railways. He says because of this he understood the huge consumer market for travel and how rare quality service is. Sn-ap drivers are equipped with some high-tech kit that alerts passengers via text message where on route their ride is, therefore eliminating the where-is-it stress. So far, 70,000 people have used Sn-ap's services.

The team have created an algorithm that encourages each coach company to up their standards. Customers are asked to star-rate their experience on each journey. The coach companies with the most stars receive more work than those with less. Sn-ap uses vehicles that are unused for the majority of the year including the premium quality Chelsea team coach.

Thomas added: “Our concept is anywhere to anywhere, anytime - and most importantly we are on-demand. This means trips only run when people want to travel, which keeps prices low. We can pick you up and drop you off at a variety of flexible locations, rather than taking you to a fixed terminus you don’t need to go to, and by using our app you can manage the whole experience quickly and easily on your mobile.

“We think Sn-ap is the future of intercity travel, and we’re excited to see what the people of Leicester think of our service in the coming months - hundreds of people following the launch event have already signed up for their free trip to London.”

For those who missed the launch event, new customers can also apply for their free trial journey via Sn-ap’s website.

Sn-ap has already launched successfully in Nottingham, Bristol and Cardiff and plans to expand to a further four UK cities in the coming months. By the summer, Sn-ap predicts over 100,000 people will be on-demand intercity coach travellers.
