Everards Managing Director receives Leicestershire Cares Volunteer of the Year Award

Everards Managing Director Stephen Gould has been recognised as Volunteer of the Year 2017-2018 by Leicestershire Cares.

Leicestershire Cares brings businesses and communities together, for the benefit of all, through employee volunteering. They provide volunteering opportunities for companies looking to get involved with communities in Leicestershire and Rutland.

Gail Brown, Education Manager at Leicestershire Cares says: “Stephen was awarded this title over other volunteers for his ongoing support for Speedy Speakers and nurturing other new speakers to come forward.”

Stephen has been given this award for his time invested in the Speedy Speakers scheme where he gives career development talks to students in local schools. In the past year alone, Stephen has spoken to over 500 local students.

Stephen comments: “I really enjoy each Speedy Speaker session that I give to every school I go into. It’s great to see the enthusiasm and atmosphere in a room full of students who are considering their future options. It means a lot to the Everards team and myself to be recognised and given this award, so thank you to Leicestershire Cares and I look forward to many more volunteering sessions.”

Everards was one of the original founder businesses of Leicestershire Cares so has enjoyed a long association with the Everards team supporting Leicestershire Cares initiatives such as Interview skills, number partners, right to read and team challenges.
