Made for the Premier League?

Yesterday the Leicester City hierarchy continued to strength their squad with 21-year-old James Maddison from another of my old clubs Norwich City. For me it shows their intent to get business done early and hit the ground running.

Maddison with 15 goals and 8 assists last season is a player who creates chances and can score goals. I read somewhere that earlier in the year Maddison had created more chances than any other player in the Premier League, Bundesliga and La Liga. Granted he is young and the Premier League is a big step up but it's clear he can both score goals and create chances. This can't be a bad thing and I think he can be a really good supply line for Jamie Vardy in the next campaign.

I have to be honest I haven't seen much of the lad, so I spoke to my old teammate and pal Darren Eadie who has seen him a lot more than me. Eadie had this to say;

"He's a real worker, always wanting to improve, he is super confident in his own ability and despite not being blessed with a huge amount of pace he uses his technique and body well to ghost past player".

I asked Darren, is he a player with 'potential' or someone who can have an immediate impact on the first team?

"He will need to strengthen up and has never play Premier League football so it's a massive step-up. He is great at set piece delivery and links up play from defence to attack so I think he will be a great asset".

So from what I have seen, read and from what Darren is telling me Maddison is joining Leicester with bags of potential but could have a huge impact immediately given his scoring record and ability.

I asked the Blue Army their thoughts on twitter and it seems the fans are excited by the signing.

@Bully444 "Buzzing Wol...heard through a decent source the kid is a player"

@EustachioLcfc "Buying young, promising British players was always something that other clubs did (and could afford), so it's good to see us linked and buying British talent"

@Foxyproxy1313 "Great signing, we'll let him off the fact he's a Coventry fan though"

I'd like to welcome James to this great club, I'm looking forward to meeting him and seeing him do his thing. If he works hard and gives his all the fans will back him 100%!! Good luck fella.
