Leicester City Football Club have announced the arrival of Belgian midfielder Youri Tielemans on loan from Monaco until the end of 2018/19 season, subject to Premier League and international clearances.
The talented midfielder who represented his country at the 2018 World Cup in Russia arrives at the King Power Stadium after an impressive 18 months with French side Monaco, featuring 65 times in all competitions and scoring six goals.
Speaking to Leicester City's LCFC TV Tielemans said: "I’m really excited to get going. The Premier League is one of the best leagues in the world and when I was young, I always watched Premier League games. I’m really happy to be here and I’m excited to get started"
Tielemans is the youngest Belgian to ever play in the Champions League, when whilst at Anderlecht he featured aged 16 years and 148 days. Averaging almost one goal every six games for Anderlecht, winning two league titles over four seasons. He moved on to AS Monaco for a reported fee of £22 million.
This season he has played 22 league games for Monaco and has scored on five occasions. Only Radamel Falcao has scored more with eight goals.
As Tielemans arrives, Portugal international Adrien Silva heads to France. Silva has struggled during his time at Leicester and has only made two Premier League appearances for the foxes this season.
The midfielder is highly rated by new Monaco manger Leonardo Jardim and will be looking for a run of first team football, something he wasn't getting under Claude Puel.
