Wellbeing, be it physical or mental, should be a priority for everyone, both in their personal and professional lives.
Looking after your physical health by eating and sleeping well, exercising, and enjoying yourself will help to improve your mental wellbeing.
The Centre for Mental Health states that mental health problems at work cost the UK economy £34.9bn a year — a staggering amount of money!
It is especially important to promote wellbeing in the workplace, as the top causes of long-term absence are ill mental health and stress.
The team at Oadby House hosted a Wellbeing Charity Event to support local charity, Hope Against Cancer on Thursday, November 7.
The event was held at Oadby House’s luxury showroom on the Oadby Parade and raised £1,200 for Hope Against Cancer.
It was a fun and informative event, which had a fantastic turnout, with talks from Wellbeing4life and Priti Coles, a cranial therapist, as well as a range of activities to enjoy.
Local multi-award winning Indian restaurant Chutney Ivy provided nibbles, with drinks provided by Oadby House themselves.
Daniella Smith, Showroom Manager, said: “The evening was a resounding success. There were many guests getting involved.
"It was fantastic to see many members of the local community celebrating wellbeing and raising money for an amazing cause.
“Wellbeing is incredibly important to us here at Oadby House. Good mental health is vital in the workplace, and we take pride to invest in our staff and their wellbeing.”
