Qdos Consulting’s annual charity event this year was a mammoth 24 hour spinathon covering the length of the Amazon River, which is over 4,000 miles long! The event which took place outside of the stunning Leicester Cathedral, on the day of the Leicester Alternative Balloon debate, kicked off at 3p.m. on Thursday 19th May and carried on through the night to the following afternoon.
The challenge was grueling, painful and felt almost impossible at times, especially in the cold and dark early hours of the morning. However, the team dug in and with the help of lots of extra volunteers such as some attendees of the Leicester Alternative Balloon debate as well as a few of on patrol constables from Leicester City Police they cycled the entire distance with 45 minutes to spare.
The team have raised an amazing £5,130 and counting all in aid of Hope Against Cancer, LOROS and Lord’s Taverners which are three fantastic charities close to many of our hearts.
Toni Robinson, Director commented: "I am so proud of what we achieved as a team, which was made up of Qdos Employees, Clients and Friends of Qdos, it is certainly one of the hardest challenges we have ever done – and a true demonstration of community spirit with all the help and support we received."
The team are already looking to see what their charity challenge for 2017 could be.
A big congratulations to all of the participants for their hard work and e fantastic fundraising efforts. Their Just Giving donations page is still open if you would like to make a last minute contribution at https://www.justgiving.com/teams/QdosAmazonCycle
