Odd John & Family Ltd scoop East Midlands Entrepreneur Award
Jay Cooledge, Director of Odd John & Family Ltd has been awarded
‘Entrepreneur of the Year’ in the East Midlands Chamber of Commerce
2016 Leicestershire Business Awards!

Aiming to recognise and celebrate innovative and distinguished businesses
across the county who have excelled and pioneered new concepts, the
awards evening took place over a black tie gala dinner event at Premier
League champions’ Leicester City’s King Power Stadium, on Friday 2nd
September.

Sponsored by PKF Cooper Parry, the ‘Entrepreneur of the Year’ category
included two other businesses from the food and drink sector including Stones
Events and Steamin’ Billy Brewing Co.

On winning the award, Jay commented, “I am delighted and very proud to
have won this prestigious award but it did come as a bit of a shock as there
was stiff competition from some really well renowned businessmen who have
been established far longer than we have!”

Over the last year, the family-run business has continued to expand at a rapid
rate with the opening of a second Odd John’s Kitchen deli café in Quorn
following a highly successful Kickstarter campaign fully supported by the local
community. The company has also taken over and refurbished The Falcon
Inn, a stunning Everard’s pub and hotel in Long Whatton, Leicestershire. This
has strengthened their existing successful portfolio of the traditional gastropub,
The Griffin Inn, the original Odd John’s Kitchen deli cafe and their awardwinning
wedding venue – The Old Stables, all based within the picturesque
village of Swithland, Leicestershire.

The company has built its business ethos around the community, by
supporting and providing a platform for local food and craft producers with
opportunities to host craft and food workshops within the community to
providing retail space to help showcase the very best of local produce and
talent.
