Autumn Zing: Celebrate the turning of the leaves with this warming cocktail
Nothing beats this magical time of year between summer and autumn. It’s still warm enough to leave your coat at home, but the air is fresh and the leaves are starting to slowly turn from bright greens to fiery oranges.
This is why we’ve named our latest cocktail Autumn Zing, to celebrate this seasonal transition with a warming, invigorating and yet unmistakably British fusion of flavours.
As the rhubarb season is slowly coming to a close, this flavour-infused gin reminds us of the hearty, home-made desserts and sugary sweet treats of late summer. But, as the nights get darker we all need something spicy to warm us up, which is where the Qcumber ginger water comes into play, bringing you a blend of refreshing cucumber paired with fiery ginger.
So, as the summer leaves us and the air becomes crisper and cooler, hold onto some of the refreshing tastes you’ve come to know and love over the past few months. But now pair them with your favourite flavours from the garden and ginger, which adds a spicy kick and delivers a range of health-boosting benefits to see you through the Autumn months.
Here’s the recipe:
The Autumn Zing
1 shot Rhubarb Gin
100 ml Qcumber ginger water
Springs of basil or mint to garnish
Pile your ice high into a tumbler (the copper ones look the part) and carefully pour over your gin, followed by a splash of the Qcumber ginger sparkling water. Don’t forget to garnish with two basil or mint leaves to add a vaguely sweet and aromatic touch. Drink while watching the sunset, as an early crisp, Autumnal day is coming to a close.
