Labeled as the worlds greatest tribute act, Bookends will be returning with their mesmerising Simon and Garfunkel concert to Melton Mowbray this February.
Bookends accurately re-create the classic songs which are bound together with imagery and interviews with Paul Simon & Art Garfunkel. The concert goes behind the scenes of one the most influential artists of modern popular music. Created by old friends Dan Haynes and Pete Richards, the pair are wowing audiences around the world with their multilayered theatre experience which, as well as incredible accurate live renditions of the iconic songs also features images, original footage and interviews with Simon and Garfunkel themselves. The show also features narration written by Victoria Kingston, the author of Simon and Garfunkel – The Definitive Biography.
The show has been described as 'not your average tribute show', they don’t dress up or try to act like Simon and Garfunkel but instead pay tribute to the iconic sound that the duo are famous for by recreating the perfect harmonies, timing and diction that mesmerised a generation. Since their emergence into the entertainment world Dan and Pete, collectively known as Bookends (the name is taken from Simon and Garfunkel’s third studio album) have toured extensively visiting prestigious venues such as the Edinburgh Festival Theatre, The Lowry in Manchester and the breathtaking Minack Theatre in Penzance. They have performed consecutive sell-out runs at the 2014, 2015 and 2016 Edinburgh Fringe Festivals with their concerts being described as ‘simply breathtaking’.
Hear classic hits such as Homeward Bound, Mrs. Robinson and the unforgettable Bridge Over Troubled Water. The show is a masterpiece in performance with Bookends being, without doubt the most authentic sounding tribute to Simon and Garfunkel in the entire world.
