Leicester based Sturgess Jaguar Land Rover has recently welcomed a new Corporate Business Manager to the team.
Stephen Dodsworth joins Sturgess from Marshalls Motor Group in Oxford. Previously winning regional Fleet and Business Sales Manager of the Year, Stephen brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience.
He commented: “I’d like to think that the award indicates that I’m a safe pair of hands who is committed to the Jaguar Land Rover brands and the Fleet’s business programme.”
At Sturgess, the logo (which features a kangaroo) reflects how its founder left Leicester for Australia, then returned to start the business which marks its 120th anniversary this year. This resonated well with Stephen, as he was born and raised in South Australia.
“I like that it’s a recognised local icon, and the connection to Australia. The heritage of the company and the Royal Warrant makes it a brand you’re proud to represent.”
Stephen goes on to describe his initial thoughts of the business.
“When I arrived here and met the chairman, I got a real sense of confidence – somewhere I could see a future. It’s not a big PLC, and Barney (Managing Director) and Chris (Group Chairman) can make decisions on behalf of the business fairly quickly.”
“I’m here to establish Sturgess as a Centre of Excellence for fleet and business sales, representing both Jaguar and Land Rover, in particular within the local Small and Medium Enterprise community.”
Passionate about new models and innovation, Stephen is excited about the new Land Rover Discovery 5 and feels it will now attract a new and younger generation of company car drivers. He is also looking forward to welcoming many new products from both Jaguar and Land Rover over the coming months, most notably the new Range Rover Velar and the new smaller SUV from Jaguar.
