Leicester Fashion Week involvement helps salon to victory at annual awards

Staff at KH Hair Leicester are celebrating after being recognised for their top-class marketing activities at this year's KH Hair Awards.

Since moving to their brand new ground floor premises on Bowling Green Street in the City last year, the team has been involved in a number of community initiatives and events including October's Leicester Fashion Week - and it was this initiative which gave them the edge over KH Hair's Group's other 21 salons when it came to choosing a winner for the 2017 Marketing Award, sponsored by Toast PR.

Chosen as Leicester Fashion Week's 'hair partner' Salon Director, Amanda Fall and her team hosted a special VIP launch evening, with a Master Class which provided guests with a sneak peek at the designs hitting the catwalks over the three day event.  Attendees were also given expert hair tips on how to create the latest looks for the season. During the week, KH Hair’s Art Team worked tirelessly backstage creating the looks for the catwalk shows which took place in iconic venues across the city.
Collecting the award on stage with her salon team, Amanda said: "It's really great to be recognised for our efforts to promote the new salon and Leicester Fashion Week was a really important part of that initiative. It was interesting to collaborate with other businesses and individuals across the City and my thanks go to my hard-working team and all our lovely customers for their continued support.”
The KH Hair Awards, now in their 10th year, were kicked off with a moving tribute to the Group's founder, Mr Keith Hall MBE who passed away in May 2016 aged 94. Mr Hall was fondly remembered by KH Hair's Managing Directors Darren Messias and Tim Fee who described him as a war hero, an exemplary business man, and true gentleman.

The tribute was followed by a show stopping catwalk from the KH Hair Art Team, before awards were given out to the Group's top performers.

“It's really great to have this opportunity to bring all our salon staff together to celebrate their achievements." said Darren and Tim. "Amanda has worked really hard to develop the new salon with the objective of ensuring existing clients would fall in love with it just as much as customers coming for the first time. She has achieved this in abundance with long-standing clients having unanimously praised the new salon and new customers flying through its doors; a testament to the marketing and PR Amanda has carried out during and after the move."

Speaking about the opening tribute to the Group's founder, Darren said: "It was an honour to pay tribute to Mr Hall.  We were all incredibly saddened by his loss. The business would not be here today without his foresight and vision, and, even after his retirement, he remained a constant figure of inspiration and guidance throughout certainly our careers but also those of all 300 staff we have at KH Hair."

The event took place on 8 April at the Roundhouse in Derby city centre, hosting KH Hair’s 300+ staff with VIP guests from Wella and the company’s dedicated charity, ChildLine to which KH Hair recently handed £5,055 which was raised by the Group's salons throughout 2016.

Another Leicestershire winner on the night was KH Hair Hinckley who walked away with the Receptionist Award.
