BISTROT PIERRE, located at Millstone Lane, has benefited from a modern refurbishment which has seen the bistrot transformed in readiness for its seasonal autumn/winter menu launch.
The bistrot also welcomes Kam Chagger as new general manager. Kam returns to his hometown and is looking forward to taking up his new position at the redesigned bistrot, which has been open in the city since 2003.
He said: “I have been in the restaurant industry for more than 15 years and have always admired Bistrot Pierre. Being from Leicester, I am of course aware of its fantastic offering.”
The refurbishment of the much-loved bistrot has incorporated the group’s fresh new look found within the newer bistrots including a new colour scheme, new lighting, wall art and fittings.

“We’re also delighted to now be offering diners our newly launched autumn/winter menu which is now being served at the bistrot. This includes our customers’ favourites boeuf bourguignon maison and confit de canard as well as exciting new dishes including poulet chasseur - which is pan-fried chicken in a classic chasseur sauce of red wine, mushroom and concassé tomato,” added Kam.
The popular lunchtime prix-fixe menu, which changes monthly, is available seven days a week with prices starting at just £9.95, £11.95 and £13.95 for one, two or three courses.
A prix-fixe early evening menu will also be on offer until 7pm, with two courses available for £13.95. The bistrot’s evening À la carte menu is also available and is updated seasonally.
“I’m happy to be back in Leicester and look forward to welcoming new and returning diners and revealing the bistrot’s new look and new seasonal menu,” continued Kam.
Co-founders, Rob Beacham and John Whitehead, have since grown the business since it began more than 20 years ago in the East Midlands and the group now has multiple sites across the UK.
“We may have grown but we have strong roots in the region – this is home for us,” said Rob.
“Leicester was the third restaurant in the Bistrot Pierre family, it’s a restaurant that’s become part of the fabric of the city and we want to ensure that it stays that way by ensuring that it maintains the Bistrot Pierre ethos.
“This is a turning point for our bistrot which offers authentic French cooking and seasonal menus; combining French bistrot classics with regional favourites. I believe that our Leicester bistrot maintains this ethos – and has done for the past 14 years.
“I’m sure that our loyal following of dedicated diners will be as excited about the bistrot’s new look as we are and I look forward to seeing their reactions,” continued Rob.
The restaurant has now reopened to the public and bookings can be made by contacting 0116 262 7927.
