Professional coaching at Leicester Castle Business School

September 18, 2018

Not just an environment for student-types, Leicester Castle Business School runs courses especially designed for people already in the business world whether they’re just starting out, in the middle of a successful journey, or at the height of their career.

The business school, located in the historical Great Hall of Leicester Castle, provides the Postgraduate Certificate in Professional Coaching, which is accredited by the Association of Coaching and introduces businesspeople to the many different coaching approaches, tools and interventions that are used in the modern day organisational environment. The course is designed to enable and empower you to become better managers and leaders.

Becky Gulliver is the Lead ER and Policy Consultant at Liverpool Victoria LV she told us about her experience on the Professional Coaching PGCert at Leicester Castle Business School: “I’ve been in HR overall for about 10 years now. I’ve looked at coaching for quite a few years actually, realising that I’m naturally doing quite a lot of coaching in my role anyway. I undertook a few taster courses and landed on this course through a recommendation.

“To me, the reason I liked the look of this course was because it was in a business school so I like that blend of business and the world of academia. There is a great teaching here; it’s renowned for having great teaching at De Montfort University and in the business school but also the course directors were really engaging when I first spoke to them about the course.

“Once I’d had that conversation I knew that their style of learning and teaching were something I wanted to be part of. I’m really enjoying the experimental learning so we’re, undertaking a lot of triads where one person is the coach, one person is the coachee and one person is the observer and that’s great to gain that practical experience so I’m really enjoying that.

“I’m really enjoying getting to know the cohort that is part of this journey with me. It’s been fantastic but also I’m really enjoying the guest speakers. We’ve got a great blend here of theoretical knowledge around coaching but also some academic speakers that we’ve had come into the course and that’s been fantastic.”
