Why processes mean progress

Wiser Ways is all about identifying wiser ways (badoom badoom) of doing things for businesses across the Midlands. Focusing you on the importance of value generation areas, pointing out possible pitfalls, and helping you galvanise your team into taking the actions they would otherwise quite happily put off for another year, the approachable company take us through the importance of processes in this very helpful blog post.

By official definition a process in business is a collection of linked tasks which find their end in the delivery of a service or product to a client. A business process has also been defined as a set of activities and tasks that, once completed, will accomplish an organisational goal. If everyone is on the same page with your processes, well, everyone has the right knowledge of the inner workings of the business.

Essentially, the message is that your company isn’t worth anything if it can’t run without you. If you train employees to use the processes that make the business run, then your business is worth more – not to mention allowing you the freedom to leave the business physically for a holiday here and there – remember those?

Then, after growth and success within the business, you may come to a point where you want to sell up. Having seamless organisation and processes in place will make the business far more valuable for your exit strategy.
