New Orthopaedic Surgeon Book Launch in Leicester

Maneesh Bhatia is a Consultant Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Surgeon at University Hospitals Leicester, UK. He has previously written the highly rated ‘An Orthopaedic Guide for Today’s GP’ which is a useful adjunct to this new book.


Mr Bhatia has a keen interest in education and research and runs joint injection courses and teaching seminars in Orthopaedics and is an examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons. He is an advisory panel member of NIHR, currently a member of Scientifics Committee of British Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society and the Education Secretary of British Indian Orthopaedic Society.


'Musculoskeletal Injections and Alternative Options – A practical guide to ‘what, when and how?’ is the title of Maneesh Bhatia’s second book launched in Leicester. With a turnout of over 100 GPs and allied healthcare professionals all keen to see the new awaited book.


Mr Bhatia spoke about Musculoskeletal injections for joint or tendon problems which are now commonly performed in general practice and is on the rise. Traditionally performed in a hospital setting, many GPs are now being up skilled to carry out this procedure for their patient’s needs.


With proper indication and application technique the steroid injection can result in marked improvement in acute symptoms as well as delay or postpone surgery. This book helps doctors from various disciplines including orthopaedics, sports medicine, rheumatology radiology and primary care as well as allied health care professionals understand the indications and local anatomy to safety perform injections with complication avoidance.


The content is supported by current evidence, guidelines and companion videos with the help of 20 authors over 11 chapters and one video editor to help bring this book to life.
