Ex-Tigers players face Nevill Holt Cricket Club Sponsors in charity match and picnic event

This Friday, you can pop along to a celebrity cricket match whilst picnicking on July 9 at 12pm in the beautiful grounds of the Nevill Holt Cricket Club.


The cricket club sponsors are playing a friendly game of cricket against ex-Leicester Tigers players, accompanied by a chilled-out countryside picnic for charity.


It's a bring-your-own food and drinks picnic and there'll be plenty of ice available to keep your drinks cool all afternoon! Alcohol is permitted to bring along with you, and dancing in your picnic space is encouraged.


The match will see Ex-Tigers XI verse Nevill Holt Cricket Club Sponsors XI.


“It's been organised primarily as a thank you to our sponsors. On the day, people from sponsor organisations will be playing against ex-Leicester Tigers players including Martin Johnson, Neil Back, Tim Stimpson and Leon Lloyd," said local businessman and Club Chairman Ian Guyler.

The event has been organised primarily as a thank you to the club’s sponsor and to raise money for charity.


Captaining the Leicester Tigers team is former Tigers player and rugby union international full-back Tim Stimpson. The team will include the likes of Austin Healey, Harry Ellis, Freddie

Ian Guyler will be the head coach of Nevill Holt CC Sponsors Team sporting local individuals and business people.

The event is just £5 for adults and will be a great day out with the family.


Watch the cricket match and bring a picnic along. All funds raised will be split between the club and the Matt Hampson Foundation.


Ian added: "Come and watch rugby players and people you might know playing cricket with a picnic.”
