Best Gastro Pub at the Midlands Food, Drink and Hospitality Awards 2023.
The awards celebrate the heroes of hospitality across the Midlands.
The awards ceremony was held on July 10 at Eastside Rooms, Woodcock Street, Birmingham.
Nestled in the heart of Leicestershire countryside, the premium gastro pub forms part of The Cat & Wickets Pub Company, owned by England cricketers Harry Gurney and Stuart Broad.
Since leasing the pub from Everards in November 2022, £80,000 has so far been spent on renovating the interior of The Griffin Inn.
Harry Gurney, Managing Director at The Cat & Wickets Pub Company, commented: “We are absolutely delighted to have won this award.
"Stuart and I are proud to be part of a team that works incredibly hard to make our customers’ experience better and better with each visit. This award is testament to that.”
He added: “However, we will not allow ourselves to become complacent. Our goal is always to deliver outstanding customer service, and that will never change.”
Stuart Broad agreed: “We first opened our doors eight months ago, and so it is a huge privilege to have received this award within our first year. We’re also hugely grateful to our customers for supporting us – thank you!”
The Griffin Inn, located in Swithland Leicester, was also named Leicestershire Pub of the Year at the National Pub and Bar Awards in April 2023.
