Families can explore Leicester for less with new My Leicester App

The new My Leicester App is available to download now.

A new free app is helping families enjoy a full day out in Leicester city centre, while making their money go further.


The My Leicester App, developed by BID Leicester, is designed to help families discover, explore and save. Whether its exploring the city centre with free trails, finding fun local events, exclusive food offers or even low-cost parking, the app makes it easier to plan a fun and affordable day in the city centre.


“The My Leicester App is all about making the city centre more accessible and enjoyable for families,” said Simon Jenner, Director at BID Leicester.

“You can explore hidden murals on a trail, grab lunch at a discount, and even find where to park for less – all in one place. We know how quickly a day out can add up, so we wanted to make it easier for families to enjoy the city without overspending.”


The app includes family-friendly features like free themed trails, including the 'Animal Hunt' and 'Family Day Out in Leicester'; exclusive offers and discounts, including restaurants and family deals; real-time parking tools to help find cheaper places to park; and listings for city centre events and competitions.

 

Half-term highlights include these examples of current offers on the app (though it’s important to check the terms and conditions for details, available in the app!):


  • Kids eat for £1 at Five Fox Lane 

  • Free kids’ Margherita pizza at DoughWHAT 

  • Kids eat free on Sundays at The Globe

  • Up to 25% off food bills at family-friendly spots like Herb, 1573 Bar & Grill, and Merchant of Venice

  • Free kids’ pizza with every child who plays at East Street Lanes or Caddyshackers


These offers, combined with free activity trails and the app’s ability to help users find cheaper parking options, mean families can enjoy a full day out in the city for significantly less than expected.


The app is free to download on Apple and Android, and includes regularly updated offers, local events, and independent business listings.


Features like digital loyalty cards and seasonal competitions make it a go-to companion for anyone spending time in Leicester city centre.
