Leicester brewery celebrates 50 years of Tiger ale

Everards wants you to help them celebrate.

Everards' Tiger ale turns 50!

Everards iconic Tiger ale is 50 and to celebrate the brewery will be taking Tiger on Tour.

From Monday 22 August to Friday 26 August, Everards will be celebrating Tiger’s 50th Year of production!

Jon, Everards Head Brewer says: “I’ve been immensely proud to bring Tiger back to Leicestershire and continue in Everards investment of brewing quality beers.

"Tiger has been a firm favourite for our drinkers throughout its lifetime. I can’t wait to see Tiger through the next 50 years and hope everyone joins us in celebrating such a momentous occasion!”

A local favourite, The Tiger, has a special synonymous in Leicester as the Leicestershire Regiment were nicknamed ‘The Tigers’ in 1825 following their long service in India.

Launched in 1972, the first barrels of Everards Tiger ale were delivered to pubs, and a new age in beer drinking was born.

The branding depicted a bright modern image which symbolised the progressive and confident mood of Everards at the start of a new decade.

In 2016 we were very honoured to receive special permission from the Colonels of the Leicestershire Regiment to use their laurels on today’s Tiger logo.

Brewed exclusively for their pub estate of over 150 pubs and their prestigious partners including the Leicester Tigers, Tiger really is a special beer.

To find out where they’ll be heading just look on Everards Facebook and Instagram every day for a clue.

Entrants to competitions through their socials may even be in with a chance to win prizes and even free beer, with the first 10 people given a free pint of Tiger.
