Leics Make Music festival comes to De Montfort Hall June 24-26.
Leicestershire Music’s ‘Leics Make Music’ Festival 2025 will take place over June 24 - 26. The ambitious series of five separate events incorporates singing only concerts, concerts for school children, partnership work with the prestigious Gabrielli Roar and performances by a wide range of Leicestershire Music’s own choirs and music groups.
Over 1500 young musicians from the city and county will perform on the big stage, showing what they have learned through attending Leicestershire Music choirs, bands, orchestras and groups.
The 3-day Festival is being sponsored by Leicester based PPL PRS, facilitated by the Leicester Music Board who are successfully narrowing the gap between music education and the music industry in Leicester.
Sarah Barton-Wales, Head of Leicestershire Music said, "We are delighted to be providing these experiences for our young people and know that the memories created will stay with them forever. For many at the start of their musical journey, this will be their first visit / performance experience and hopefully inspire them to pursue an interest in music making.

June 24 (Day) – Leics Celebrate! Youth Music – Schools only Event
Leicestershire Music’s first of a kind schools’ workshop and performance - Leics Celebrate! – featuring performances for young people BY young people.
A fun and highly interactive workshop including learning to perform a song – followed by a musical extravaganza featuring over 100 young people including well known music performed by the Leicestershire Schools Symphony Orchestra (LSSO) and uplifting, vibrant performances by the Steel Pan Ensemble. A fantastic opportunity for the students to watch their peers perform as well as participate with the hope to enthuse and inspire the young people in their musical journey.
June 24 (Evening) - Leics Make Music
An exciting evening of performances featuring the Leicestershire Music Steel Pan Orchestras, Leicestershire Schools Symphony Orchestra, Concert Band, Big Band, Junior Band, Strictly and Snazzy Strings in a string collaboration and the Junior Percussion Ensemble.
June 25 (Evening) - Gabrieli Roar & Leicestershire Music - Dido & Aeneas
A Fantastic performance with the acclaimed Gabrieli Consort as part of their Gabrieli Roar programme working in partnership with Leicestershire Music.
June 26 (Afternoon) – SEND Big Sing
After participating in a morning workshop, around 100 young people will take to the stage to form an Inclusive massed choir to share their singing for friends and family.
June 26 (Evening) - Leics Sing! SINGTASTIC!
An exciting evening of singing featuring young people from schools all over the city and county celebrating Leicester and Leicestershire, from history to culture folklore to sport!
