It was a two-day celebration.
The Lord Mayor of Leicester, Councillor Deepak Bajaj and Metro Bank’s 13-year-old Super Fan, Oliver Benghiat, officially opened the new Leicester Metro Bank store on Friday.
The Grand Opening event kicked off a two-day celebration at the new branch. Throughout the day, attendees were able to enjoy a complimentary coffee from a local barista van.
On the Saturday, guest spots from the Dhol Drummers cranked things up. There was also free face painting for kids.
“We opened three stores in the pandemic but were not able to celebrate in our usual high voltage Metro Bank style,” commented CEO Dan Frumkin. “
Colleagues are gearing up for a two day Grand Opening extravaganza and looking forward to celebrating in style with Leicester residents.
"Being integral to our communities is key for us. All our new colleagues have been recruited from Leicester so we already have a fantastic knowledge of the area – in fact, they are all so local nearly every one of them will be able to walk to work.”
The new bank was opened by Oliver Benghiat, after he set himself a challenge to visit every UK Metro Bank by his 13th birthday.
