“A beautiful, blistering masterpiece” - The Observer, ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

hopefully ! Album Cover by Loyle Carner
hopefully ! The new album by Loyle Carner

I’m proud to admit it was my teenage daughters in our music loving household who opened my ears to Loyle Carner. One car ride, one carefully chosen playlist, and suddenly I was hooked. Now, his soulful storytelling and introspective lyricism are a proper family affair. We blast his albums on road trips and dissect the lyrics over dinner like a mini book club with better beats.

So you can imagine the buzz in our house when Loyle announced his brand-new album hopefully !, coming 20 June 2025 via Island EMI. Even better? He’s hitting the road for a global tour right after his Glastonbury Other Stage headline slot (27 June). That includes a four-night run at London’s O2 Academy Brixton and –yes!–two nights right here in Birmingham. He came up in a recent “who we have to see live this year” chat while his last album was blasting through the speakers. It's safe to say, we’re ready.

hopefully ! arrives alongside two surprise tracks–‘all i need / in my mind’–showcasing Loyle in his lyrics covering life-affirming fatherhood, childhood, light, depth, and alternative music all braided together. The cover features his son, whose voice I'm informed will be scattered beautifully across the record. It’s likley set to be intimate, bold, and full of boundaries being redrawn in the best way. Loyle doesn't just give us music - he hands over pages of his life with honesty.

From his early days with A Little Late, through to Yesterday’s Gone and hugo, Loyle’s made catharsis sound cool. He’s carved out space in British music that’s deeply personal yet utterly universal. Mercury nods, sold-out arenas, collabs with brands like Nike and YSL – it’s all been leading to this.

And now? He’s stepping into acting with the upcoming BBC drama Mint and still finding time to mentor kids with dyslexia and ADHD through his Chilli Con Carner workshops. He even picked up an honorary doctorate from UAL last year. Come November, we’ll be front and centre in Birmingham, soaking up every second. Two generations, one artist, and a night we’ll never forget.

Pre-order hopefully ! for live access now: album pre-sale opens on 30 April at 9AM local time, with Live Nation and SJM pre-sale on 1 May (9AM), Spotify pre-sale beginning on 1 May (12PM), and tickets available for general sale on 2 May (9AM).
