Money was also raised for Menphys charity which provided the venue.
With the challenge set to raise £6,000 in a 12 month period for Zinthiya Trust, the team at Cross Productions has been getting creative and coming up with a selection of events and activities to help them achieve one of their CSR (corporate social responsibility) goals for 2021/22.
Zinthiya Trust is a local charity that works to alleviate poverty and abuse in Leicester and Leicestershire and is run by Zinthiya Ganeshpanchan.
This month finally saw the return of this fantastic community gathering where business leaders all came together to put their brains to the test with general knowledge, history and sports for a curry and quiz night on October 6.
With headline sponsors from JSP Virtual in attendance, the competition was fierce.
Would you know the answers?
Which sport has an official playing area that measures 2.7 metres by 1.5 metres– is it table skittles, table tennis or snooker?
How long did the “One Hundred Years War” last – was 100 years, 108 years or 116 years?
What Cross raised
The night saw Cross collectively raise £1,435 for Zinthiya Trust as well as bringing in just over £450 for Menphys, the hosts for the evening at the Menphys Hub in South Wigston. Menphys supports Leicestershire children and young people with disabilities.
With Shaf Islam and his team from Chutney Ivy feeding guests first with some delicious chilli infused dishes we were ready and raring to get going.
Cross Productions said a special thank you to the winning quiz team that included Phil Houlder of Glenfield Electrical and a couple of his employees, and Chris Cain of Kazzoo IT and Adam Jenkins of Jenkins & Jenkins who generously donated their £100 winnings back to the charity.
If you missed out on the evening but wish to donate you can still do so on Cross Productions Golden Giving page.
Watch this space for their next event coming soon…
