Big news is unfolding for Leicester’s business community - Niche Magazine Leicester and the Niche Business Awards have been acquired by international entrepreneur Nady Ghaly, CEO and Founder of Niche Magazine Middle East and Bebrand Advertising Agency.

This marks a defining moment in Niche’s journey. What began back in June 2013 as a bold idea from founder Jenny Cross, building a trusted local business and lifestyle magazine, has grown into a brand that’s become part of Leicester’s DNA.

With the launch of the Niche Business Awards in 2014, the team created one of the county’s most anticipated events, celebrating talent and achievement across every sector. Fast forward to 2025, and the awards are in their 11th year, with the latest Bollywood-themed ceremony lighting up Athena earlier this month.

Now, Niche Leicester is stepping onto the world stage. Already established in Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Italy, the Niche brand’s international family is expanding to include the UK.

Speaking on the acquisition, Nady Ghaly praised the Leicester team for creating something extraordinary:

“What Jenny and her team have built is inspiring, a trusted platform and community that continues to make an impact. I’m thrilled to welcome the UK into our international family and grow the Niche vision across new markets.”

For Jenny Cross, the milestone feels like a natural next chapter: “From starting the magazine from scratch to building a community businesses trust, it has been a privilege to see Niche become a key part of Leicester’s business landscape. I’m excited to see its future under Nady’s leadership.”

It’s an exciting new era, and one that continues to keep Leicester firmly on the map. Find out more about the global Niche family here: new.nichemagazine.me
